Research in Oxford encompasses multi-disciplinary studies across the full spectrum of women’s and reproductive health. The Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health () is one of the largest academic and clinical Obstetrics & Gynaecology departments in the UK. The department conducts basic, clinical and translational science .   Nurses and midwives who wish to work in sexual and reproductive health need further education to do so. It is a specialist area that requires post-registration education, training and development not covered on undergraduate programmes in enough depth.
